Greetings Festivarians,

Every autumn as we close the Ranch down for winter, we find handfuls of picks buried under the leaves and dirt in the onsite campground area - each pick lovingly worn in and filled with memories of jam sessions with friends old and new, but sadly lost into the grass and dirt amid some blistering late night jam.

Entries are being accepted online at bluegrass.com right now thru Sunday, November 25 at 11:59pm MST. Lottery entries are filled in a random order and you'll only be charged if we're able to fill your request.

Don't worry: festival tickets for RockyGrass (including camping at nearby Meadow Park) don't go on sale until December 5. But if trading a few mandolin licks late Friday night or sharing a home-brewed coffee together Saturday morning with your onsite neighbors is part of your 2008 summer plans, mouse on over to bluegrass.com and get your name into the lottery.

Chris Thile & David Grisman (photo: Laura Klein)Entries for the Telluride Town Park campground lottery came in from 47 different states as well as Norway, Australia, Germany, and several other countries. As a result of the historic turnout, camping and vehicle passes for Town Park are now completely sold-out. But we will begin re-selling refunded tickets at shop.bluegrass.com every Tuesday at noon MST, beginning February 5.

If you missed out on Town Park camping passes for the 35th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival (June 19-22), we still have numerous other camping options including Warner Field - located adjacent to the Festival grounds right next to Town Park. These camping passes, as well as a limited number of holiday-priced festival tickets, will go on sale on Wednesday, December 5 at 8am MST.

The lottery for RockyGrass Academy (July 20-24) classes closed several weeks ago. With even more entries than last year, most Academy classes are now sold-out. But there is still space in some of the banjo, bass, and dobro classes. Those few remaining Academy spaces will go on sale on December 5 at 8am MST over the phone only - 800-624-2422 or 303-823-0848.

RockyGrass Festivarians (photo: Laura Klein)We know you're all anxiously awaiting the preliminary lineup announcements for the 2008 festivals, including the Folks Festival (Aug. 15-17) and The Song School (Aug. 10-14). Look for an announcement during the week that all tickets go on sale - Wednesday, December 5. It'll be well worth the wait. We promise.

Warmest Thanksgiving wishes from all of us at Planet Bluegrass. We feel truly blessed to be a part of this rich, loving community of Festivarians. As you sit down to listen to "Alice's Restaurant" or "The Last Waltz" this week, take a moment to reach out to a member of your Festivarian family and reflect on the wonderful gift of friendship and family we have all been given.
