43rd Annual Telluride Bluegrass artwork (artist: Scott Knauer)Have you seen it? The migration of Festivarian Nation is underway. It's visible on all the roads leading to Telluride: Carpools and campers filled with mandolins and tarps. Spontaneous jam sessions at rest stops and gas stations. "Sam Bush for President" bumper stickers dominating all political expression. The Festivarians are making their way to Telluride for this weekend's 43rd Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival (June 16-19) -- and we sure hope you're among them.

This year's Telluride Bluegrass artwork captures the magical feeling of Festivarians arriving in Telluride under the solstice moonlight. As you ready your mule cart for the Telluride pilgrimage we wanted to share a few important final details and inspirations...

-- Telluride Bluegrass --New Town Park stage
The 43rd Telluride Bluegrass is a year of anniversaries: Edgar Meyer celebrates 25 years of mindblowing Telluride virtuosity and Tim O'Brien serenades the canyon for his 40th year. (Check out recent interviews with both of these inspiring artists.) But it's also a year of new beginnings: with the Bluegrass christening of the gorgeous new Town Park stage. We can't wait for you to see it!

Beyond the epic main stage lineup (Ryan Adams, Neil Finn, Emmylou Harris, John Prine, Flecktones, Dave Rawlings Machine, dozens more), be sure to check out the schedule of workshops at the free Elks Park stage, including Béla & Edgar, Sara Watkins & Friends, Punch Brothers Happy Hour, a mandolin extravaganza, and much more. Meanwhile, the Family Tent features activities for kids and their families throughout the Festival. This year marks the 20th year for the Kids Parade (through the Festival grounds on Sunday afternoon) and the Kids Talent Show (on Saturday afternoon).

Telluride street viewThe 8th Annual FirstGrass Concert in Mountain Village presents Mandolin Orange and Balsam Range in the stunning Sunset Plaza on Wednesday evening, June 15. Begin your Bluegrass festivities by riding the free gondola from Telluride for this free outdoor concert from 5-8pm, before Yonder's sold-out kick-off party at the Conference Center.

For the 10th consecutive year, we're voluntarily offsetting the Festival's entire carbon footprint -- including the emissions from everyone's travel to/from Telluride. You can help minimize TBF's impact by sharing your ride to Telluride, and you might be eligible for our new Carpool Contest! We'll be randomly selecting cars with 4 or more passengers to receive fun prizes, including Keen footwear, Klean Kanteen reusables, our collectible book 40 Years of Festivation, and the grand prize of Meier skis! If you have extra room in your vehicle, the carpool board on the Festivarian Forum can help.

Morning tarp run at Telluride Bluegrass (photo: Benko Photographics)It's not too late to make your Telluride plans. A few Thursday and Sunday single-day tickets may still be available -- as well as camping at Telluride High School and Mary E. Ilium -- at or the Festival box office. As well, the "Telluride Ticket Exchange" on our Festivarian Forum is a great resource for those looking to buy/sell other Festival tickets.

If you can't make it to Telluride this weekend, unroll your tarp in the backyard and tune-in to KOTO's live Festival broadcast at, including live sets from the Town Park stage, artist interviews, and much more. Watch our Facebook page for live updates from Telluride, including videos, photos, and much more.

• Print your tickets
• Bring your vintage beer cups, water bottle, insulated mug, and utensils
• If you're camping, drive directly to your campsite to unload your gear (download the mobile-friendly Camper's Handbook for other campground details)
• Precycle wrappers and packaging to minimize the waste you bring to Telluride
• Adjust your thermostat and water heater before you leave home
