With single-day tickets and 3-day passes still available at shop.bluegrass.com, 800-624-2422, or at the Festival box office in Lyons, it's not too late to spend some magical time with your Festivarian friends and family along the St. Vrain River. It's going to be a very special weekend of songs and stories to keep you nourished for months to come...

Richard Thompson at the 2015 Folks Festival (photo: Benko Photographics)From 10am to past 10pm each day, we're excited to feature some of our favorite songwriters from around the world including: Andrew Bird, Lucinda Williams, Passenger (all on Friday); Conor Oberst, the legendary Mavis Staples, Darrell Scott and Kathy Mattea (Saturday); and a final day that travels the globe from Scotland (Dougie MacLean), Scandinavia (My Bubba), Ukraine (DakhaBrakha) to the literate musical world of The Decemberists to close the Festival on Sunday night. Check out the complete main stage schedule.

Beyond the main stage, the Wildflower Pavilion offers more intimate performances from several dozen more of our favorite singer-songwriters, including Ellis, Vance Gilbert, Amy Speace, Steve Seskin, Arthur Lee Land, and many more. Check out the complete Folks Wildflower schedule.

Planet Bluegrass main stage (photo: Benko Photographics)We open the Folks Festival with our prestigious Songwriter Showcase on the main stage. Listen to the Soundcloud stream of songs from all 10 of this year's finalists, traveling to Lyons from around the country, then cheer for them all as they perform from 10:30am-12:30pm on Friday, and during in-the-round performances in the Wildflower Pavilion.

Be sure to join us each morning at 8:00am inside the festival grounds for free yoga. Thanks to our friends at Gaiam for once again providing the mats and blocks.

St. Vrain River at the Folks Festival (photo: Benko Photographics)We invite junior Festivarians (and their families) to join us in the kids area all weekend with activities from the Colorado Mountain Club, Wild Bear Ecology Center, Swallow Hill's instrument petting zoo, and the always-popular craft tent. As always, kids 12 and under are free and likely to have at least as much fun as their parents.

As you finish your packing for this weekend, please don't forget to bring your reusable toolkit: water bottle, utensils, vintage beer cup. As with RockyGrass, we'll again be providing all our food vendors with reusable bamboo-based plates at no additional cost or hassle to Festivarians. You'll simply receive your food on a reusable plate and return this plate at the Festival waste stations (we'll then wash the plates each night so they can be reused at our Festivals for years to come).

Night at the Folks Festival (photo: Sam Crump)For a sneak peek at this weekend, here's an online preview of our printed festival program (available for free at the box office). Keep an eye on our Facebook page for regular updates -- including photos and live video -- throughout the Festival.

And check out some great Folks Festival previews from Boulder Weekly (including features on Andrew Bird, Passenger, and Parker Millsap), Huffington Post (including features on The Accidentals and Kathy Mattea), Denver Westword (with a feature on Freddy & Francine and The Accidentals), and the Longmont Times-Call.

RockyGrass Festivarians (photo: Benko Photographics)Thanks to everyone who joined us for the 44th Annual RockyGrass a few weeks ago. We'd love to hear about your Festival experience - from the music to the campgrounds to the tarp line. Complete our online survey and you'll be entered to win a pair of 3-day passes for the 45th Annual RockyGrass: July 28-30, 2017.

Congrats to the RockyGrass Campsite Challenge winners: Camp Shady Grove from Denver. For their efforts they'll receive a pair of 3-day passes and camping for next year's RockyGrass. (Folks Fest campers, be sure to enter yours or a neighbors campsite in the Folks Fest Campsite Challenge at the Leave No Trace booth inside the Festival.)

Relive a little of the RockyGrass magic through festival recaps at No Depression, Denver Post and Marquee Magazine.

We can't wait to see everyone this weekend at the Folks Festival. Safe travels to Lyons!

With love,
The Folks on Planet Bluegrass
