2017 Telluride Bluegrass Festival artworkFor many in Festivarian Nation, this week's to-do list looks something like: morning hike to waterfalls, make a lasting friendship with new tarp neighbors, consume New Belgium beer and killer flank steak, and enjoy full days and nights of acoustic adventure. Yes, the 44th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival is upon us!

It's the beginning of a magical summer of festivation here in Colorado. Only a handful of Sunday single-day tickets are left for Telluride Bluegrass, but tickets and camping are still available for the Rocky Mtn Folks Festival (August 18-20) in Lyons.

Board the free gondola from Telluride to catch full sets from Freddy & Francine followed by The Cleverlys.

Beyond the festival main stage, be sure to check out the free workshops at Elks Park. This year's schedule includes: Sam Bush, Pastor Mustard, and Kooster McAllister discussing "TBF's Neverland Beginnings"; basic bluegrass jamming with Pete & Joan Wernick; special sets from Punch Brothers, Yonder Mountain String Band, and Fruition; the band and Troubadour contests; and much more.

Telluride Bluegrass Festival skis by MeierPick up your free printed festival program and pocket schedule at the box office, including artist bios, stories on Hot Rize's 20th TBF and Abigail Washburn's "We the People" gospel set, our new eco-puzzle (win a deluxe Kelty camping package!), and our new Festival APP.

For the 11th year, we're offsetting the Festival's entire carbon footprint - including the emissions from all travel to/from Telluride. You can help reduce the festival's impact by carpooling to Telluride - and you might win a pair of limited edition Telluride Bluegrass Festival skis handmade by Colorado's own Meier Skis! Share or find a ride to Telluride in our Festivarian Forum.

Gondola to Mountain VillageWe may still have a few Sunday single-day tickets available, as well as lodging in Telluride and Mountain Village. If you're still looking for 4-day passes or camping, check out our Festivarian Forum. But please be cautious and use common sense when purchasing tickets from a 3rd party that you don't know -- especially on craigslist.

If this isn't your Telluride year, throw down your tarp in the backyard and listen to the live festival stream on Telluride's community radio KOTO -- www.koto.org -- including live sets from the Town Park stage, artist interviews, and much more. And watch our Facebook page (@planetbluegrass) and Instagram feed (@planet.bluegrass) for live updates all weekend.

• Print your festival tickets at home. (If you forget, we recommend you print them at the Telluride library.)
• If you're camping, drive directly to your campsite to unload your gear.
• The Festival box office is located on the east end of Pacific Ave right next to the festival entrance.
• Be sure to pack your vintage beer cups, water bottle, insulated mug, and reusable utensils.
• Don't forget your NightGrass tickets!
• Remember to prep your home before you leave: turn down your thermostat and water heater, unplug electronics.

Mandolin Orange (photo: Benko Photographics)With the final additions of Elephant Revival and Mandolin Orange, we're proud to share the complete single-day lineup for our 27th Annual Rocky Mountain Folks Festival (August 18-20) in Lyons. They join a lineup that already included: Gregory Alan Isakov, Dave Rawlings Machine, The Revivalists, Lake Street Dive, Josh Ritter, Rhiannon Giddens, The Weepies, The Wailin' Jennys, and many more.

Celebrate songs and stories with us at the Planet Bluegrass Ranch this August. 3-day passes, single-day tickets, and camping along the St. Vrain River are available now (with no service fees, of course) at shop.bluegrass.com.

Summer begins in just a few short days. We can't wait to share it with you!

With love,
The Folks on Planet Bluegrass
