RockyGrass Festivarians (photo: Benko Photographics)It's only been 10 days since the 45th Annual RockyGrass Festival, and we already miss you, Festivarians! Good thing we only have a little more than a week before we meet again on the Planet Bluegrass Ranch in Lyons at the 27th Annual Rocky Mountain Folks Festival (August 18-20)!

With Friday & Sunday single-day tickets, 3-day passes, and on-site camping passes still available at or 800-624-2422, it's not too late to enjoy our final summer weekend of Festivation along the St. Vrain River in Lyons.

Folks Festival stage (photo: Benko Photographics)The 27th Annual Rocky Mountain Folks Festival again welcomes many of our favorite songwriters from around the musical and geographic world - hailing from Australia, Egypt, Scotland, Canada, and all around the United States.

We open the Folks Festival on Friday with Gregory Alan Isakov, Rhiannon Giddens, The Weepies, and many more. Check out the stream of songs from the 10 finalists in the Songwriter Showcase contest which opens the Festival on Friday morning.

Folks Festival stage (photo: Benko Photographics)Single-day Saturday tickets are now gone. But you can still join us for Saturday's lineup of The Revivalists, Elephant Revival, Loudon Wainwright III, and many more by grabbing one of the last few 3-day passes.

We close the 27th Annual Folks with Dave Rawlings Machine (check out NPR's First Listen of David Rawlings' fantastic new album), Lake Street Dive, Josh Ritter, The Wailin' Jennys, and many more. (Goodness, what a closing day of music!)

Gregory Alan Isakov merch giveawayWe've partnered with Gregory Alan Isakov and David Rawlings to offer exclusive merchandise giveaways to Festivarians attending the Festival on Friday or Sunday -- including vinyl LPs, a Hatch Show Print, and banjo zip hoodie. Check out our Facebook page for more details.

Beyond the main stage, check out the schedule of performances in the Wildflower Pavilion including Mary Gauthier, Ellis, Vance Gilbert, Steve Seskin, Amy Speace, Peter Himmelman's Kids Show, and much more. As always, kids 12 and under are free and there's lots for them to do in our family area in the woods next to the beach.

Young Folks Festivarians (photo: Benko Photographics)Camping is still available in Meadow Park and the on-site campground. If you're planning to arrive early for the on-site campground line, be sure to read through our new line policy.

To encourage carpooling to Folks Fest, we're giving away a pair of limited edition Meier Skis to one lucky carpool (4+ occupants). Our parking crew at Bohn Park will be handing out certificates to randomly chosen carpools all weekend to enter the ski drawing.

Gather your Festivarian Family and make your Folks plans now at or 800-624-2422. As always, we charge no service fees on any tickets. Don't wait much longer: 3-day passes will likely be gone in just a few more days.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for the 45th Annual RockyGrass (July 28-30). Check out our daily photo galleries on Facebook and read about a few festival highlights in No Depression, Marquee Magazine, Daily Camera, Bolder Beat, and even a New York Times story about the surprise awarding of the Steve Martin Banjo Prize to Scott Vestal during Saturday night's Sam Bush set.

We'd love to hear about your Festival experience: complete our online survey for a chance to win tickets to the 46th Annual RockyGrass (July 27-29, 2018).

RockyGrass instrument contests (photo: Benko Photographics)Congratulations to all the instrument contest winners and our 2017 band contest winners Denver's own Meadow Mountain! Thanks to all our instrument partners—Gibson, Deering Banjos, Paul Beard, and J.F. Devereux—for supporting the next generation of RockyGrass pickers through these contests!

Now that the festival is over, join the community of musicians online and continue your learning with your favorite artists at ArtistWorks Academy of Bluegrass!

Planet Bluegrass sustainable festivation station (photo: Benko Photographics)Congrats to the RockyGrass Campsite Challenge winners: Anarchy! (In the Outfield) from Breckenridge. For their efforts they'll receive a pair of 3-day passes and camping for next year's RockyGrass.

Thanks to a grant from Boulder County's Zero Waste Funding Program, we were able to wash all the reusable plates in our new commercial dishwashing station on the Ranch this year. Based on our initial number crunching, these reusable plates were used 14,060 times at RockyGrass, conserving over 67,337 gallons of water from plate production! Thanks to our Sustainable Festivation crew and to all of you for supporting this groundbreaking program.

With our recent wet weather, the Planet Bluegrass Ranch is looking lush and welcoming. We hope to welcome you home next week at Folks Fest!

With love,
The Folks on Planet Bluegrass
